CANCDTGEN 009/25
Canadian Cadet General Order (CANCDTGEN)
Cancellation of CATO 12-40, CCO Wide Area Network (CCO Net)
- Effective immediately, CATO 12-40, CCO Wide Area Network (CCO Net) is cancelled. CATO 12-40 is too specific to support and govern the actual use of CCO Net within the modernized Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Group (CJCR Gp) and its interpretation may lead to confusion.
- The Information Technology (IT) architecture of CJCR Gp continues to evolve to adapt to today’s requirements. Since its inception, CCO Net has evolved and it has a broader purpose and a larger audience than when CATO 12-40, CCO Wide Area Network (CCO Net) was released. The rollout of Cadet365, the capacity to use non-CCO Net computers (personal assets, Cadet365 assets), the availability of some systems from Internet, and the availability of Wi-Fi Internet at corps/squadrons and Cadet Training Centres are contributing to changing the scope and requirement for CCO Net.
- The following policies provide more accurate information and will be supplemented by new policies as they are developed:
- DAOD 6002-2, Acceptable Use of the Internet, Defence Intranet, Computers and Other Information Technology Systems;
- CJCR Gp O 6002-1, Allocation of Information Technology Resources;
- CJCR Gp O 6003-4, Information Systems Account Manager; and
- CJCR Gp O 6002-4, Management of Portable Information Technology Devices
