Training Dress – C5
Sea Training Uniform (STU)
- The following may be worn: A corps or black ball cap, wide-brimmed tan summer hat, beret, toque, or turban.
Field Training Uniform (FTU)
- The following may be worn: wide-brimmed tan summer hat, beret, toque, turban, balmoral, Glengarry, caubeen and khaki tam o’ shanter. A corps or black ball cap may be worn for Sea Cadets.
Flying clothing
- The following headdress may be worn with flying clothing: wedge, ball cap, beret, wide-brimmed tan summer hat, turban and toque.
Sports clothing
- Authorized physical fitness training, other occasions as ordered. Civilian sports attire must be neat, tidy, and appropriatrely styled with no markings that could be deemed to be offensive or otherwise reflect discredit on the CCO.

Notes:
- C5 – A functional order of dress when participating in nautical or field training activities or activities where a requirement exists to protect the dress uniform or personal clothing; During the CTC period by: staff cadets occupying a position that warrants the wear of this uniform; by cadets participating in selected courses; and other occasions as ordered. Note that the FTU can replace C5 for Sea Cadets while at CTC.
- C5A – Same as C5, without the field training shirt / blue sea training shirt.
- C5B – Naval Combat Dress (NCD) for Sea Cadets and Flight Suit for Air Cadets.
- C5C – Issued or civilian, as directed by CTC or corps/squadron
