Canada’s Reserve Force
Canada cannot meet its defence needs at home and abroad without the dedicated, motivated and highly skilled people who work tirelessly to defend Canada and promote Canadian values and interests abroad.
Reservists come from all walks of life including students, civil servants, labourers, business people, academics and former members of the Regular Force. These are, truly, citizen soldiers.

About the Reserve Force
The Reserve Force is an integral component of the Canadian Armed Forces. Reservists are primarily part-time service positions. They may volunteer for full-time employment or deployment on operations. They typically serve one or more evenings a week and/or during weekends at locations close to home. Reserve units are located in hundreds of communities across Canada and the world.
Information for Employers and Educators
Employers and educators are not alone in supporting their reservists; there are a number of programs and services for you to draw upon in order to make it easier for your Reservists to attend critical training, or even deploy in support of operations.
