Public statements
Under the Cabinet Directive on Strategic Environmental and Economic Assessment , when a detailed assessment has been done and the proposal has been announced or implemented, CED must issue a public statement on the environmental and economic impacts of the proposal.
This directive aligns with the preceding directive, under which the Agency would prepare a public statement regarding environmental impacts once a detailed strategic environmental assessment or preliminary scan was conducted.

Strategic environmental assessment of the Quebec Economic Development Program
The Agency conducted a strategic environmental assessment of the Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP). It was then updated in accordance with the 2012 Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA), in line with the Cabinet Directive on the Environmental Assessment of Policy, Plan and Program Proposals.

The program’s implementation was not likely to generate significant environmental impacts, provided that:
- the 2012 CEAA is applied to supported projects to ensure that no significant environmental impacts are generated.
