Backgrounder: CED finances five projects to kickstart tourism in Mauricie region

The following information is in addition to the news release issued on September 29, 2023, on CED’s financial assistance, the recipient businesses, and their respective projects.

La Tuque

To develop the tourism accommodations on offer in the Haute-Mauricie region. This project is the first phase in the opening of eight new rental cottages in the region.

The main activities undertaken are the construction and development of two rental cottages, hiking trails, a spa, and a transactional website, as well as the acquisition of outdoor equipment and a shed to store it in.

CED’s contribution covers all project costs, apart from the development of hiking trails.




Pourvoirie Marmette-sur-le-Gouin inc.

La Tuque

To develop the tourism experience at the Marmette-sur-le-Gouin outfitter by manufacturing and furnishing a new houseboat accessible to people with reduced mobility and by upgrading the septic facilities.

The CED contribution covers only the costs associated with manufacturing the new houseboat.




Méandre Haute Mauricie inc.

La Tuque

To provide accommodations in the form of micro-cabins, ready-to-camp outfits, and campsites and to provide a variety of outdoor activities to establish the Haut-Saint-Maurice region as a tourism microdestination.

The main activities undertaken are the development of the site; the installation of platforms for the domes; the acquisition of a mini ready-to-camp outfit and camping and accommodation equipment; the development of a website, promotional tools, and a brand; and the acquisition of outdoor equipment.

CED’s contribution covers all project costs, except for the promotional tools, a portion of the website, the development of a brand, and Internet expenses.




Pourvoiries du Barrage Gouin et du Magnan inc.

La Tuque

To modernize the tourism accommodation units.

The main activities undertaken are the replacement of the propane heating and lighting system with a solar electric system, the renovation and modernization of the cabins, and the replacement of appliances.

CED’s financial assistance covers the costs of renovating the cabins and installing the solar panel system.




Aviation 2000 inc.

La Tuque

To implement a project to modernize an attraction that will strengthen the Haut-Saint‑Maurice region as a microdestination.

The main activities undertaken are the purchase of equipment, the modernization of the reception building, and the creation of a transactional website.

CED’s contribution covers all project costs.
