Making it easier to apply for caregiving benefits

Starting December 3, 2017, nurse practitioners and medical doctors can sign medical certificates for any of the EI caregiving benefits (Family Caregiver benefit for adults, Family Caregiver benefit for children and Compassionate Care benefits).

This change will make it easier for caregivers to access benefits, particularly if they live in rural or remote areas.
