Key messages
Join us during National AccessAbility Week from May 31 to June 6, 2026 to celebrate the achievements of persons with disabilities in Canada. This year's theme is "Building a Strong, Accessible Canada," reminding us that we all benefit when everyone has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.
This is also a time to recognize the contributions of individuals, organizations and workplaces that are breaking barriers and working together to build a more accessible and inclusive country for all.
Since the Accessible Canada Act came into force in 2019, significant progress has been made to advance accessibility and disability inclusion in Canada. By continuing to take action together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive and barrier-free Canada for everyone.
Our country is stronger when everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute to our communities and workplaces. In the spirit of "Nothing without us," the Government of Canada continues to collaborate with partners from the disability community, Indigenous representatives, intersectional groups, and all levels of government to ensure that persons with disabilities can participate fully in all aspects of life.
