National AccessAbility Week 2024: Outreach toolkit

Overview

National AccessAbility Week takes place from May 26 to June 1, 2024, under the theme of "Forward Together: Accessibility and Inclusion for All".

The week provides an opportunity to mark the important contributions made by Canadians with disabilities, and to put a spotlight on the leadership of those who work tirelessly to make our country more accessible and disability inclusive.

Help make the week a success by promoting it using the following key messages, social media content and visuals.

We also invite you to follow and share posts from AccessibleGC on X (Twitter) and Accessible Canada on Facebook.

Key messages

From May 26 to June 1, 2024, let's celebrate the significant and innovative contributions of persons with disabilities in Canada, and the accomplishments of people who proactively identify, remove, and prevent barriers to accessibility and disability inclusion in their communities and workplaces.

We have come a long way since the coming into force of the Accessible Canada Act in 2019. Let's take time to celebrate the steps taken to advance accessibility and disability inclusion and reaffirm our focus on moving forward to achieve the goal of a barrier-free country.

A fully inclusive Canada benefits all of us. Our country's strength lies in the diversity of its people — all of its people. In the spirit of "Nothing Without Us," the Government of Canada continues to collaborate with partners from the disability community, as well as Indigenous representatives, intersectional groups, and all levels of government to ensure the needs and interests of persons with disabilities are considered and supported.
