Backgrounder
The Convention on Social Security between Canada and the Republic of Peru will come into force on March 1, 2017.
The Convention on Social Security will enable Canada and Peru to coordinate the operation of Canada’s Old Age Security and Canada Pension Plan programs with certain comparable pension programs of Peru.
The Convention was signed on April 10, 2014.
Canada has signed 59 international social security agreements, all of which are in force (including Peru as of March 1, 2017) with the following countries:
