Biography of Social Security Tribunal member

Pierre M. Vanderhout – Kingston, Ontario

Pierre M. Vanderhout has been a Member of the Social Security Tribunal since 2014.  An accomplished insurance lawyer with nearly 20 years of practice, he now devotes his litigation expertise part-time to the Tribunal’s General Division - Income Security Section, adjudicating Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security appeals.      

Mr. Vanderhout holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics) and Bachelor of Laws, all from Queen’s University and has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 1999.

Mr. Vanderhout has been appointed as a full-time member of the Income Security Section for a term ending June 8, 2020.
