Backgrounder:  Enabling Accessibility Fund - Cumberland and Colchester projects

Backgrounder

The Enabling Accessibility Fund supports the capital costs of construction and renovations related to improving physical accessibility and safety for people with disabilities in Canadian communities and workplaces.

The four Cumberland and Colchester area projects to recently receive support under the EAF small projects component are:

  • Factory 58 Holdings – received $100,000 to purchase and install a lift (Medical Savaria Prolift) to enable access to the newly renovated second floor.
  • The Village of Bible Hill – received $75,927 to expand and enhance accessibility renovations on the fire hall with the building of an outdoor ramp.
  • Rath Eastlink Community Centre – received $41,278 to upgrade push buttons in its restrooms and upper seating area.
  • Municipality of the County of Colchester – received $100,000 to renovate two floors to make them wheelchair accessible and install push buttons.
