Minister Qualtrough to announce new investments to help more Canadians enter the skilled trades

The Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion, will be in Edmonton to announce investments that will help more Canadians, particularly those facing barriers, prepare for a career in the skilled trades.

Minister Qualtrough will be joined by the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance.

A photo opportunity and media availability will follow the announcement.

Journalists who want to participate must register by contacting with their name and media outlet before 8:30 a.m. MDT on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.  Please indicate if attendance will be in-person or virtual.  Further information will be provided upon registration.

In-person attendance instructions

  • Arrive between 20 and 30 minutes prior to the announcement.
  • Do not attend if you have any symptoms associated with COVID-19. 

Virtual attendance instructions:

  • Connect 15 minutes prior to the announcement.
  • To help ensure optimal sound quality, journalists are encouraged to use a microphone (headphones/headset) and to avoid using speaker mode if queuing up for questions.
