Backgrounder

The following projects will receive over $16 million in funding under the Skills for Success Program:

ETHOS Career Management Group Ltd.
Project Name: Skills Quest 4 Success Project
Location: Nanaimo, BC
Funding Amount: $2,227, 202

This project will design and implement training to support individuals to improve their foundational and transferable skills and be better prepared to meet on-the-job demands through a tested online interactive gamified 6-week program. ETHOS will also develop and update tools and training for small to medium sized employers through an Inclusive Employers Hiring Hub (the HUB).

TEAM Work Cooperative
Project Name: Piloting Employment
Location: Halifax, NS
Funding Amount: $345,546

The project will design and implement training with a regional partner in the aviation industry resulting in improved employment outcomes for participants, training 15 Canadians resulting in improved employment outcomes in the aviation industry.  

Saskatchewan Abilities Council Inc.
Project Name: Job Skills for Success Project
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Funding Amount: $800,146

The project will create 25 online videos and an online downloadable Job Skills for Success Training Manual, to provide individuals with free online tools to enhance their foundational and transferable skills.

Restigouche CBDC
Project Name: Compétences pour réussir des PME dans les régions rurales du Canada
Location: Campbellton, NB
Funding Amount: $7,192,439

This project will help distribute and update an inventory of existing essential skills trainings and design new accessible trainings to help Canadians improve their skills to better prepare, obtain and maintain employment.

Canadian Hard of Hearing Association
Project Name: Accessible Navigation to Employment (ANTE) Program
Location: Ottawa, ON
Funding Amount: $1,675,199

The project will design and implement training to support 80 people with disabilities meet on-the-job demands and support employers to receive training on accessible communication practices and tools to facilitate hiring, and work with people with disabilities.

Canada Safety Council
Project Name: Driver for Hire
Location: Ottawa, ON
Funding Amount: $3,790,501

This project will create a nationally recognized consistent online learning program to address safety, regulatory, problem solving and interpersonal issues associated with driver or vehicle for hire services available in Canada in the gig economy. The Driver for Hire program will provide important occupation or regulatory training to 5,000 workers while reinforcing their foundational and social-emotional skills.
