Budget 2019 introduced a new tool to help all Canadians get the skills they need to find and keep good jobs: the Canada Training Benefit.
This benefit would:
- give workers money to help pay for training
- provide income support during training through the new Employment Insurance (EI) Training Support Benefit, and
- offer job protection so that workers can take time away from work to keep their skills up to date without the fear of losing their jobs
This online engagement process aimed to help identify information gaps, challenges and ideas to better inform the design and delivery of the new EI Training Support Benefit and leave provisions under the Canada Labour Code.

- labour organizations
- workers
- learning institutions and training providers
