Share your input: Consultation regarding Mental Health (Psychological Health and Safety)
From: Labour Program - ESDC
Current status: Open
Opened on November 26, 2020 and will close to new input on January 8, 2021.
The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Labour, has a mandate commitment to improve labour protections in the Canada Labour Code (Code) by:
- including mental health as a key component of occupational health and safety, and
- requiring federally regulated employers to take preventative steps to address workplace stress and injury
The Government of Canada is consulting with interested parties to gather input on mental health (psychological health and safety) in the workplace. The input will inform policy proposals that are responsive to the diverse needs of federal jurisdiction workplaces.
Who is the focus of this consultation
We actively encourage the following parties to provide their views and perspectives on mental health (psychological health and safety) in the workplace:
- employer organizations
- advocacy groups
- other experts, and
- all interested Canadians
Key questions for input
Questions asked in this discussion paper aim at guiding and facilitating stakeholder input. We invite stakeholders to comment on all or some of these questions, or on any other related issues that they find relevant.
The input gathered through this consultation will form part of a "what we heard" report, which will be publically available after this consultation ends.
