About the Occupational Health and Safety Program

This program seeks to promote and sustain safe workplaces in:

  • the federally regulated private sector
  • the federal public service and Parliamentary precinct
  • Crown corporations
  • First Nation Band Councils

The program aims to ensure federal employers comply with relevant occupational health and safety standards through employer and employee cooperation. It helps to:

  • protect workers' health and safety in targeted high-risk industries
  • provide income support and rehabilitation support to injured federal workers and merchant seamen
