About the Occupational Health and Safety Program
This program seeks to promote and sustain safe workplaces in:
- the federally regulated private sector
- the federal public service and Parliamentary precinct
- Crown corporations
- First Nation Band Councils
The program aims to ensure federal employers comply with relevant occupational health and safety standards through employer and employee cooperation. It helps to:
- protect workers' health and safety in targeted high-risk industries
- provide income support and rehabilitation support to injured federal workers and merchant seamen
