Transcript: Finishing the LMIA application in the LMIA Online Portal
I'm going to show you how to fill out the LMIA application using the LMIA Online Portal. This is the second video in the process; you should watch part 1 first.
In part 1, we reached the Document Upload page, which you can see here. You reach this page after you have answered all of the questions in the LMIA application.
Depending on which stream of the TFW Program you are applying for, you might need to provide some additional documents with your application.
If required, a list of documents you need to submit with your application will be listed here. You can also check our website for more information.
You must upload these documents here on the Document Upload page.
Current requirements for file sizes and formats can be found on our website, so make sure you check there first.
You can upload any documents relevant to the LMIA application, but don't upload documents that contain credit card or banking information.
To upload a document, click on the "Browse" button and choose the right document to attach to the application. Once you find it, click upload. The page will refresh and let you know that the upload was a success.
Once you've uploaded all the necessary documents, click on the "Summary" button to see a summary of the LMIA application.
You should take a moment here to review the answers and make sure the information is correct. If you have to make a change, simply click on "Edit" to make the necessary changes. You can continue to make changes to the application at any time prior to submitting it to Service Canada.
Once you're satisfied that the information is correct, click on "Attestation".
If you are an employer submitting the application, you will be brought to the Attestation and Submission Confirmation page.
Enter your password to certify that the information you provided in your application is true, accurate and complete.
If you are a third party completing an LMIA application on behalf of an employer, you must also fill out the Attestation and Submission Confirmation section. There are 2 options:
If you wish to send a copy of the LMIA application to the employer for review, select the first check box only. Once you have entered your password, the LMIA status will change to "Pending Employer Acceptance and Submission".
Once this is done, the employer will receive an email inviting them to log in to the LMIA Online Portal, where they must review the information in the application and submit it to Service Canada. It is really important that the employer does this, because the LMIA application will not be submitted until the attestation is confirmed.
If the employer does not need to review the LMIA application, select both check boxes and enter your password.
But wait! If the work location is in Quebec, remember to print a French copy of your LMIA application to submit to Quebec's Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI). To do this, click on "Initial Application Summary". From here, you can view, save or print a copy of your LMIA application.
Congratulations! Your LMIA Online application is complete! Once received, the status will show "Received by Service Canada".
