Transcript: Making a payment in the LMIA Online Portal
I am going to demonstrate how to make a payment for an LMIA application using the LMIA Online Portal.
First, make sure that the information in your Job Bank account is accurate.
After you have submitted an LMIA application, you may be required to make a payment for each position requested. For more information on the processing fees for each stream and the corresponding payment amount for each temporary foreign worker, please visit our website.
If so, the employer or their third-party representative will receive an email advising that a payment is due and to complete the payment in the LMIA Online Portal. Make sure to check your inbox and junk mail folders so that you don't miss this email.
Either the employer or their third-party representative can make the payment, but it must be made within 3 days of receiving the email notification. If you don't make a payment within 72 hours, the LMIA application will be closed, and the file will be marked "Payment not completed".
Once you receive the email notification, log in to the LMIA Online Portal. If you need help logging in, watch our video titled "Logging into the LMIA Online Portal".
After logging in, you will arrive at the LMIA Online User Dashboard. From here, select the employer file that the LMIA application was submitted under. Find and select the LMIA application under the employer that requires payment.
Next, click on "Make payment", and information about the fee will appear onscreen.
You can make a payment securely using your debit or credit card.
Click "Pay", complete each of the fields and then click "Checkout".
When making a payment, it is important to only have one LMIA Online Portal tab open in your browser, to avoid duplicate charges. It is also important to wait for the payment confirmation page to load. Do not refresh or close the payment page until you get confirmation that the payment was successfully completed. This may take a few minutes.
Once your transaction has been approved, click on the "Receipt" button to view your receipt. A copy will also be sent to you by email.
After you leave the payment screen, you can find your receipt on the Employer Dashboard at any time by clicking on "Receipt" under the "Actions" column for the LMIA application you made the payment for.
You will also notice the application status will change to "Queued for Assessment", meaning that it's waiting to be assigned to an officer for assessment.
And there you go! Now you know how to submit a payment using the LMIA Online Portal.
