The Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy - Investments in Training Equipment (CAS-ITE) will now accept applications on an ongoing basis.
Funding priorities for the CAS-ITE may change. Prior to applying, check this funding page to ensure that you have the most current and up-to-date information.
Funding decisions will be made on a continuous basis in line with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) standard timelines and may take up to 4–6 months.
Application period: Continuous intake Open
Funding amount: Up to $5,000,000 per project for a maximum of 36 months.
Who can apply:
Organizations that are located and operate in Canada (except in Quebec), such as:
- Unions representing workers in the Red Seal trades
- Organizations managing training trust funds for unions representing workers in the Red Seal trades
- Training providers that provide technical training to pre-apprentices and apprentices as part of a recognized apprenticeship program for a Red Seal trade
What this funding opportunity offers: Funding for projects that demonstrate a need for trades training equipment and materials that meet industry standards or invest in new technology to train pre-apprentices and apprentices in Red Seal trades.
Note Eligibility consideration: Organizations are required to provide a cash contribution equal to or more than 50% of the cost of new, up-to-date equipment and materials. However, a 30% cash contribution will be accepted if at least 50% of project activities are impacted by challenges such as remote locations, limited infrastructure, or limited partnership opportunities.
