Follow-up after you apply

If you submitted your application through Grants and Contributions Online Services, you should have received an acknowledgement immediately.

Otherwise, we acknowledge within 21 calendar days of receiving your application package. This is our timeline under normal conditions, which complies with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) service standards.

Final decision

The Minister of Employment and Social Development makes the final decision on projects recommended for funding. The amount of time it takes to process applications is determined by the volume of applications received. ESDC will make every effort to process applications in a timely manner. Once a final decision has been made on all applications, ESDC will notify applicants in writing of the review outcome (approval or rejection). Decisions are final and there is no appeal process.

Project start date

Recipients must not start their projects until they receive an ESDC approval letter and an agreement has been signed by an ESDC representative.

Overview

The Skills and Partnership Fund is a demand-driven, partnership-based program that supports government priorities through strategic partnerships by funding projects contributing to the skills development and training of Indigenous workers for long-term, meaningful employment.
