Why have you added security questions to the sign-in process?

The Government of Canada (GC) takes privacy and security very seriously. This additional step helps validate your identity when you login to GC systems.

Where are these questions taken from?

The questions are randomly selected from the five questions you entered when you first registered to our systems. Note: They are case sensitive.

What happens if I get the answers wrong?

You only get three attempts at answering the questions. If you are unsuccessful, your account will be locked and you will need to follow the instructions to recover your GCKey information on the "Welcome to GCKey" page.

What should I do if I don’t remember the answers?

Contact the 1-855-438-1102 for telephone assistance.

What should I do if I get locked out of my account?

If, after three attempts you are locked out of your account, you must contact 1-855-438-1102 for telephone assistance.
