“Being part of a team that is always ready to tackle challenges with a smile motivates the work I do each and every day.”

Suchita Vyas has worked at Environment and Climate Change Canada for the past year and a half as the Executive Assistant to the Director General of the Meteorological Service of Canada’s Prediction Services Directorate. Fueled by new challenges and learning opportunities, Suchita takes pride in knowing that the work she is doing helps to serve Canadians each day.

One of Suchita’s favourite parts of her job is being a part of an experienced and dedicated team. At the beginning of this year, Environment and Climate Change Canada ranked second on the Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers 2021. Suchita cites this distinction as one of the many reasons she is inspired and proud to be working at ECCC and part of Canada’s Weather Service.

In her current role as an Executive Assistant, Suchita has seen many advancements that have changed the way she and others in her department work, such as the shift to more user-friendly and efficient platforms. With many of us now working from home, Suchita is grateful that despite this major transition, she has been able to connect seamlessly with colleagues online, continuing to ensure critical weather services are delivered to Canadians.

Now that she is working remotely, Suchita takes great pride in the fact that she has been able to go entirely paperless and is hopeful that collectively, changes like this across the board will have a positive impact on the environment on a go-forward basis.
