“Communicating about the weather is truly my passion.”

Terri Lang began her meteorology career as a university summer student at the Regina Weather Office. In the over 30 years she has spent with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Terri’s work has taken her to many different parts of Canada, from Regina to Winnipeg to Downsview. Now a Warning Preparedness Meteorologist, her career began in earnest in Winnipeg where she worked as a forecaster and gained skills in providing briefings and working with the media.

Terri participated in the first and only Meteorology Cross Training Program (where she learned her briefing skills) and was one of the first employees of the Saskatchewan Environmental Services Centre. During this time, she enjoyed working with partners and clients. The people she has met and worked with throughout her career have contributed to what she describes as an incredible journey.

Always interested in new things, Terri worked with the Mountain Weather Services Offices in Kelowna, B.C where she learned mountain meteorology. Motivated by her passion for the weather and her pride of working for ECCC, Terri enjoys working with partners, the media and the public.
