“What motivates me to work hard is my team. They are an exceptional group of public servants and I am consistently inspired to think outside the box.”

Meet Faith Edem – Faith joined Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) 2 years ago and works out of Gatineau, Quebec. When Faith isn’t hard at work as a Policy Analyst in the Environmental Protection Branch (EPB), she is actively participating in a number of departmental networks and social committees.

Through her extensive volunteer work, Faith has discovered an engaging and supportive community within the department. Currently, Faith is leading a research project within EPB’s Youth Network that is exploring Canada’s emissions roadmap from a youth perspective. Faith and her project leads created 4 roundtable sessions seeking youth voices on Canada’s 2030 and 2050 climate goals, to provide recommendations that can further support EPBs priorities. In addition, Faith is a member of the ECCC Black Employees Network, which supports diversity, inclusion, and equity throughout the department.

Faith is inspired by her exceptional colleagues and fellow volunteers, and motivated by her work in EPB. Her work will have far-reaching, positive impacts for future generations of Canadians through the implementation of sustainable actions and helping Canada meet its ambitious climate targets.

Throughout her career, the greatest advancement Faith has seen is the responsive action ECCC has taken to expand its climate change measures, to ensure every aspect of the environment is included in the energy transition.
