“I have always felt that my work contributes to a positive change in the environment; a change driven not by the self, but one that considers the wellbeing of all."

Mitra Brown is a Scientific Researcher with Environment and Climate Change Canada, working in Burlington, Ontario. Her research includes looking into isolating and measuring substances that can cause stress or be toxic to our environment. With thirty years of service, Mitra has witnessed many changes in her career, including devoting many hours in libraries doing manual literature searches, to using the computer to make research work more efficient. The highlight of Mitra's career has been her work in the field. It was there, that her love for and appreciation of the environment was amplified, and continues to remind her of the privilege of being part of meaningful environmental work.
