Environment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna and United States Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy participated in a productive meeting today with ITK Inuit leaders in Ottawa, Ontario.
Canada and the United States both recognize the importance of incorporating traditional and scientific knowledge in decision making. Both countries are committed to working with Indigenous leaders to advance our understanding of climate change and our ability to manage its effects.
On April 7, 2016, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator, Gina McCarthy, met with leaders of the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) during the EPA Administrator’s visit to Ottawa, Ontario.
