Start of registration for the Greater Snow Goose controlled hunt in the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area

News release

February 18, 2019 – Québec, Quebec

The registration period for the Greater Snow Goose controlled hunt in the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area begins today and ends on April 30, 2019. Hunting will take place from September 27 to October 22, 2019, in the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area. The distribution of hunting packages will be determined by a random draw in May.

The hunt helps preserve the Greater Snow Goose population and the local ecosystem. The overabundance of geese degrades their habitat, which then harms other animal and plant species, to the extent of decreasing regional biodiversity.
