Closing Remarks

Lucie Desforges closed the meeting by thanking participants for attending and for their honest and frank discussions. She noted appreciation for the issues and concerns that were raised on elements that were not reflected in the Consultation Document, but that are important for the Department to consider in the development of an overall framework for managing ozone-depleting substances.  

 The following were highlighted as next steps following this session:

• EC will review and take into consideration all comments received from interested and affected parties in response to the consultation document and consultation sessions.
• Proposed revisions to the ODSR 1998 will be published in the Canada Gazette, Part I at the end of 2013.
• Publication in the Canada Gazette, Part II at the end of 2014.

The meeting was concluded by noting that the Ozone Protection Programs group was looking forward to continuing to work with stakeholders and again invited participants to provide additional feedback after the workshop. It was again indicated that EC would accept comments up until July 5, 2013.
