Implementing Bill S-5, Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act

Bill S-5, Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act received Royal Assent on June 13, 2023. Bill S-5 modernizes the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA) by recognizing a right to a healthy environment, as provided under the Act, and strengthening Canada’s chemicals management regime.
