Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 129(3) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA), the conditions of disposal at sea permit no. ATL-00100-1 are varied and approved as follows. The varied conditions are published on the Canadian Environmental Protection Act Registry on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
14.1. The permittee shall prepare a dredged material disposal plan relating to the loading and disposal at sea activities authorized by this permit. The plan shall be submitted to the Department of the Environment prior to the commencement of the first dredging operation to be conducted under this permit. The plan shall address mitigation measures in relation to loading and disposal activities, procedures to accurately measure or estimate quantities of dredged material disposed of at the disposal site(s), vessel tracking, and a schedule for use of the disposal site(s). The plan shall also address measures to ensure navigational clearance of 4 metres chart datum is maintained, including but not limited to the use of release zones. Modifications to the plan shall be made in writing to the Department of the Environment.
