Reference method to measure releases of lead in particulate from stationary sources: chapter 2

Foreword

The Reference Method (RM) described in this document is used to measure the concentration and emission rate of lead in particulate released into the ambient air from stationary sources. This method is used in conjunction with those described in Environment Canada Reference Method EPS 1/RM/8 "Reference Method for Source Testing: Measurement of Releases of Particulate from Stationary Sources". The complexity of the sampling and analytical procedures warrants that personnel performing them be trained and experienced.

Application of this RM for compliance testing requires strict adherence to the method in all respects. Deviation from the method may invalidate the test results. Any modifications to equipment, reagents, materials, procedures, or calculations different from those specified in the RM may be approved in writing by the Minister of the Environment.

Note: Mention of trade names or commercial products does not constitute endorsement by Environment Canada.

This Reference Method (EPS 1/RM/7) is a revised version of "Standard Reference Methods for Source Testing: Measurement of Emissions of Particulate Matter and Lead from Secondary Lead Smelters", Report EPS 1-AP-78-3 (June, 1979).
