The Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Concentration Limits for Automotive Refinishing Products Regulations were published in 2009. In 2022, the government published the Notice of Intent to Renew the Federal Agenda on the Reduction of Emissions of Volatile Organic Compound from Consumer and Commercial Products. The notice indicated ECCC’s intention to amend the AR Regulations to:
- further align regulatory requirements with those of our trading partners,
- to clarify certain parts of the Regulations to enhance regulatory implementation and enforcement,
This consultation also seeks the public’s input on ways to improve the current regulations.
