Seasonal Outlook for North American Arctic Waters issued by the Canadian Ice Service on June 3, 2024.

Hudson Bay, Davis Strait and Labrador Coast

Summer ice outlook

Forecast ice events are expected to be earlier than normal for most of Foxe Basin, eastern Davis Strait, Frobisher Bay, Cumberland Sound, western Hudson Strait, eastern Hudson Bay and southern Labrador coast.  Forecast ice events are expected to be near normal for western Davis Strait, western Hudson Bay, eastern Hudson Strait, and northern Labrador coast.

Southern Labrador Coast

Current conditions

• Bergy water with occasional areas of 1-3 tenths first-year ice including a trace of old ice in the extreme northern section.

Northern Labrador Coast

Current conditions
