Table 20. Additional Recommended Operating Practices for Process Systems

(Use in conjunction with Part I, Chapter A - General Recommendations for All Wood Preservatives, Table 20.)

Operation Recommendations
Treatment
  • Condition wood adequately to minimize after-bleeding.
  • Keep net retention as close as possible to specified levels.
  • Apply as a minimum after the impregnation cycle an effective final vacuum to equilibrate internal wood pressure and to cool the wood.
  • To minimize bleeding, apply an effective expansion bath or final steam/vacuum cycle.
