Table 20. Additional Recommended Operating Practices for Process Systems

Operation	Recommendations
Treatment	Condition wood adequately to minimize after-bleeding. Keep net retention as close as possible to specified levels. Apply as a minimum after the impregnation cycle an effective final vacuum to equilibrate internal wood pressure and to cool the wood. To minimize bleeding, apply an effective expansion bath or final steam/vacuum cycle.
