Retriever dog training registration form
The Migratory Birds Regulations, 2022 (MBR, 2022) authorize a person to possess up to 200 migratory game birds for the purpose of training dogs as retreivers. Subsection 51(1) of the MBR, 2022 require individuals and clubs to register with Environment and Climate Change Canada when they exceed their possession limit. Migratory birds used for dog training must be legally taken under a migratory game bird hunting permit, or a Damage or Danger permit or by an individual exercising harvesting rights under section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982.
