Dear Mr. Fontaine,

At its June 15, 2021, meeting, the Farm Products Council of Canada (Council) reviewed the proposed amendment to the Canadian Chicken Marketing Quota Regulations for the A-171 allocation period, which begins on August 1, 2021, and ends on September 25, 2021.

Given that you have called an allocation meeting following a request received from the Canadian Poultry & Egg Processors Council- Further Poultry Processors Association of Canada for the A-171 period be re-evaluated to avoid potential market shortages, Council members decided to postpone their decision on the proposed amendment to the A-171 period until the conclusion of the Chicken Farmers of Canada’s allocation meeting, scheduled for June 16, 2021.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or Anik Tracey, Acting Council Secretary, at 613-857-3541 or by email at anik.tracey@fpcc-cpac.gc.ca.
