Decisions
The Farm Products Council of Canada (FPCC) is a federal public interest oversight body that oversees the operations of four marketing agencies and three promotion-research agencies to ensure that each one meets its objectives as per the Farm Products Agencies Act :
- promote a strong, efficient, and competitive industry
- operate in the interests of producers and consumers and, for promotion and research agencies where applicable, importers of the regulated products
FPCC reviews and approves requests received from the agencies that are necessary for the implementation of their marketing plan or their promotion and research plan:
- Levy Orders
- Quota Regulations
- Other regulations or directives
FPCC members’ decisions are based on whether the amendment is necessary for the implementation of the agency’s marketing plan or promotion and research plan.
