Terry Sheehan
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Labour and Seniors
Represents the riding of Sault Ste. Marie
Terry Sheehan was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie in 2015. He previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages (FedNor).
Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Mr. Sheehan studied political science at Lake Superior State University. Prior to entering politics, he spent his career working in both the private and public sectors supporting business, community, and economic development.
Mr. Sheehan worked as an employment and training consultant for the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. He was also General Manager of Entrepreneurship for the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation. Following that, he worked at the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines as an advisor.
His career in politics began when he served two terms as Trustee for the Huron Superior Catholic District School Board and, later, four terms as city councillor representing the City of Sault Ste. Marie’s Ward 2. Over the years, Mr. Sheehan has also served on a number of local committees and boards, including the Algoma District Municipal Association.
Mr. Sheehan enjoys camping and fishing around Lake Superior Provincial Park.
