Science Advisory Committee for Health Products Containing Cannabis (SAC-HPCC) Subcommittee on Animal Health: Agenda for July 27, 2021 Web Conference

Purpose: This web-conference of the SAC-HPCC Subcommittee on Animal Health will provide a presentation on the key parameters used by the Veterinary Drugs Directorate (VDD) with respect to product evaluation. The draft worksheets will be reviewed and revised (as necessary) to determine whether the available evidence supports the safety and efficacy of cannabis use in various species without veterinarian oversight.  It will close by seeking the Subcommittee’s approval of the forward agenda and work plan.

Objective: To introduce and seek approval of a draft template/approach for an evergreen document intended to capture the committee’s cumulative discussions, decisions and positions related to the Mandate. Discussion of any edits to better reflect the sub-committee’s conclusions regarding the evidence reviewed to date, as required.

Objectives: To share with the Subcommittee information the key factors used by VDD in product evaluation, along with an example to use for context.

  • Potential ingredient(s) of focus in the veterinary space
Review and revisions (as required) of draft worksheets prepared by sub-committee members
