Consultation: Proposal to amend the Children’s Sleepwear Regulations under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act

Opened on July 7, 2026 and will close to new input on September 14, 2026.

The purpose of this consultation is to inform interested parties that Health Canada is seeking comments on a proposed regulatory initiative to update the Children’s Sleepwear Regulations under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA).

How to participate

To participate in this consultation, stakeholders are asked to submit responses to the questionnaire on the Notice of intent – Proposal to amend the Children’s Sleepwear Regulations under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.

Alternatively, stakeholders can request a copy of the questionnaire and send their responses by email. Please contact ccpsa-lcspc@hc-sc.gc.ca.

Feedback collected through this consultation will be used to inform further development of the proposed regulatory amendments outlined in the Notice of intent.

This consultation will be open for comment from July 7, 2026 to September 14, 2026.

Who is the focus of this consultation

Goals of the consultation

Health Canada will use the input received through this consultation to inform next steps, which may include a cost-benefit analysis of the proposal and future consultations. Any future regulatory proposal would be pre-published in the Canada Gazette, Part I for further stakeholder consultation in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's Cabinet Directive on Regulation.
