Health Canada consulted on a proposal to control 2-methyl-AP-237 and related substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Read the Notice of Intent for more details on the proposal.
Under this proposal, 2-methyl-AP-237, a synthetic opioid, and related substances would be scheduled as controlled substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and regulated as narcotics under the Narcotic Control Regulations. In March 2023, the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs voted in favour of controlling 2-methyl-AP-237 internationally.

- Researchers working with controlled substances;
- Interested members of the public.
