List of foreign drugs in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic
The interim order gives Health Canada flexibility with respect to foreign drugs that have been approved by a trusted foreign regulatory authority.
Health Canada can add a foreign-approved drug to the list of foreign drugs in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Companies can then submit an application for one of those drugs on the list, under section 4 of the interim order. The drug is not a copy or generic version of the foreign-approved drug, but is the same drug.
The following table contains the most current list of foreign drugs in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Supplementary information on each foreign drug is also published by Health Canada and is linked from each entry.
The entry for each foreign drug includes the:
- foreign manufacturer
- foreign brand name, proper name or common name
- medicinal ingredient(s), strength, dosage form and route of administration
- foreign regulatory authority, foreign jurisdiction
- identifying code from foreign regulator, if applicable
- indication (use) approved by the foreign regulator
