Publication of Health Canada's Guide on reporting of loss or theft of cannabis

Compliance Directorate

May 25, 2020

This email is to inform you of the publication of Health Canada's guide on reporting of loss or theft of cannabis, as well as the new online fillable form. The guide was developed to provide information to regulated parties and exemptees in meeting the regulatory requirements for reporting losses or thefts of cannabis, as well as to provide a clear process on how and where to report loss or thefts of cannabis. The Loss or theft report form for Controlled Substances and Precursors from the Office of Controlled Substances (OCS) should no longer be used to report cannabis loss or theft. As you are likely aware, loss or theft reports for cannabis under the Cannabis Regulations must be reported to the Controlled Substances and Cannabis Branch (CSCB).

The online fillable report form can be saved and emailed to compliance-cannabis-conformite@hc-sc.gc.ca as the preferred method of submission. Alternatively, the form may be printed out and filled in by hand (in blue or black ink) and faxed or mailed in to the CSCB at:

Health Canada
Controlled Substances and Cannabis Branch
A.L. 0300B
Ottawa ON K1A 0K9
Fax: 613-941-6840

Should you have any questions regarding the guide or the form, please send them to compliance-cannabis-conformite@hc-sc.gc.ca.
