New import and export permit application process in CTLS effective May 16

Import-Export Unit

May 16, 2022

This message is in follow-up to the email sent on April 4, 2022, announcing changes to the Cannabis Tracking and Licensing System (CTLS) that allow licence holders to submit applications for import and export permits.

As of May 16, 2022, licence holders are required to submit new permit applications, permit change requests and endorsements through the CTLS, similar to their other licensing requests.

You will need to ensure that each individual who is responsible for creating and sending these to Health Canada, has a CTLS User Account ID. For information on access to the CTLS please contact Cannabis Systems.

Any email applications received after May 13, 2022, will be returned and you will be asked to submit it in the CTLS.

Certain requests will remain outside of the CTLS and will need to be sent to the Import-Export Unit by email. This includes requests to make changes to permit applications already submitted but for which a permit has not yet been issued, and changes to endorsements once they have been submitted through the CTLS.

Health Canada has developed instructions to assist licence holders with the import-export application process in the CTLS:
