Proposed Code of Practice for 2-Butanone, Oxime (Butanone Oxime) Associated with the Interior Application of Consumer Alkyd Paint and Coating Products

Health Canada is proposing a Code of Practice to achieve the risk management objective intended to reduce inhalation exposure to butanone oxime in interior alkyd paint products available to the general public. The purpose of this consultation is to solicit comments on the proposed Code.

Comments on the proposed Code of Practice are appreciated, with accompanying rationale. Comments can be sent to the Products Division at Environment Canada via email at Products.Produits@ec.gc.ca. If this is not feasible, comments may be sent by mail to the Chemicals Management Plan, Products Division, Chemicals Sector Directorate, Environment Canada, 9th Floor, 351 Saint-Joseph Boulevard, Gatineau, Quebec, K1A 0H3. All comments must be received before March 27, 2013.

It should be noted that this Consultation Document on the proposed Code of Practice for butanone oxime associated with the application of interior consumer alkyd paint and coating products will be revised following evaluation of comments received, and a Code of Practice will be established, if required.
