NOTE :
The Industrial Hemp Regulations (IHR) define hemp as cannabis containing no more than 0.3% delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound in the leaves and flowering heads of the growing plant. A licence is required to possess, produce (cultivate), sell/provide, import and/or export industrial hemp. 

In accordance with section 14 of the IHR, a person licensed to cultivate industrial hemp, other than a plant breeder, must use an approved variety as listed on Health Canada's List of Approved Cultivars.
