Lithium-ion batteries – Don’t go up in smoke!

Lithium–ion battery fires in larger, more powerful rechargeable products can be severe and hard to extinguish.

Reduce your fire risk:

  • Use the original battery and charger that came with your device.
  • Contact the original manufacturer or product retailer if you need a replacement battery.
  • Charge your battery away from exit doors in case of fire.
  • Store and use your battery according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Never modify, tamper with or build your own lithium-ion battery.
  • Never use a damaged or modified battery. Dispose of batteries that are worn out or show signs of damage.
  • Check with your municipality on how to safely dispose of your batteries.

Commonly found in:

  • E-bikes
  • E-scooters
