Lithium-ion batteries – Don’t go up in smoke!

Lithium-ion battery fires in larger, more powerful rechargeable products, like e-bikes, e-scooters and large power tools, can be severe and hard to extinguish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for charging, use and storage.

Reduce your fire risks:

  • Use the battery and charger that came with your device. Never use a damaged battery and don’t modify, tamper with or build your own battery.
  • If you need a replacement battery, contact the manufacturer or product retailer.
  • Charge your batteries away from exit doors in case of fire. Store at room temperature.
  • Check with your municipality on how to safely dispose of your batteries.
