Media Advisory - Sherbrooke, Québec

Sherbrooke, Québec, May 6, 2021 – Media representatives are invited to a virtual press conference during which the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Member of Parliament for Compton–Stanstead, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, on behalf of the Honourable Catherine McKenna, and the Minister for Education and Minister responsible for the Status of Women, Isabelle Charest, will make an announcement concerning recreational and sports infrastructure in the region.

For the occasion, they will be accompanied by Élisabeth Brière, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages (Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec) and Member of Parliament for Sherbrooke, François Bonnardel, Minister of Transport, Minister responsible for the Eastern Township region and MNA for Granby, Ms. Geneviève Hébert, Deputy Government Whip and MNA for Saint-François, Mr. André Bachand, MNA for Richmond, and Mr. Steve Lussier, Mayor of Sherbrooke.

Instructions for participating in the event :

The maxim number of journalists allowed, including cameras is 20. Media representatives wishing to participate in the event must pre-register, indicating that they wish to attend the event, by emailing relationsmedias@education.gouv.qc.ca before 8 a. m. on May 7. A notice confirming your presence will be forwarded to you.

People attending the press conference should not have symptoms similar to those of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with the disease within the last 14 days. Great importance will be attached to the observance of physical distancing and other hygiene measures. Note that wearing a face mask is mandatory.
