IRCC receives a high volume of requests. To ensure we can provide timely, accurate and consistent responses, media relations services are available to:

Case-specific inquiries

Due to privacy legislation, IRCC generally requires written consent before sharing information about an individual case. However, it’s important to note that IRCC can’t provide information about individuals who have applied for refugee protection in Canada, even with written consent.

Journalists requesting case-specific information must submit a completed consent to disclosure of personal information to the media form (PDF, 102 KB), signed by the individual(s) concerned. The completed form should be included as an attachment with the media inquiry.
