Ministerial Instructions 73 (MI73): Ministerial Instructions Amending the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Home Child Care Provider Class and the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Home Support Worker Class
The Ministerial Instructions were amended on June 16, 2024, to:
- reduce the work experience requirement from 12 months to 6 months
- for those described in subsection 2(3) for both the Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker classes:
- accept work experience that is gained outside of Canada
- accept work experience that is gained up to 36 months before the application is made, as well as work experience that is gained between the period of application and the last date on which the applicant can demonstrate having acquired the work experience
- clarify that applicants can demonstrate meeting the work experience requirement between the period that the application is made and up to 36 months from the issuance of the initial assessment notice, or the issuance of the home child care or home support worker work permit, whichever comes later, and
- clarify that applicants have only one opportunity to demonstrate their completed qualifying work experience
